YARA-GRCG in June
I heard from my mother-in-law last evening that south Albert had received some pretty heavy hail. So I rushed to the garden hoping for the best and saying to myself, “What else is going to happen with the weather this spring?”
When I arrived at the garden around 8 pm, there were no signs of hail damage any where. In fact, everything looked healthy and refreshed from the rain. As I started to walk around the gardens, I began to notice that there was something new. The compost bins had arrived! With the fresh rain, the cedar smelled so nice. The only thing that could make the compost bins more exciting is when I dig that first shovel of rich compost on to my garden.
Then my eye caught the sun’s reflection off the square foot gardening structures in the center of the garden. Now that the seeds are sprouting, I can appreciate all the labour that Wade put into this earlier. The wall is even starting to look green.
In other gardens, you can really appreciate the attention to detail that some made when marking and planting their rows. The precision…it’s artwork!
