YARA-GRCG in September
On a beautiful September evening while out in the garden taking photos of the maturing vegetables, it was communicated by two of our gardeners that they did not want Grow Regina to promote our gardens so much.
It is understandable that when the vegetables that we have nurtured all summer are getting close to harvest that some may desire not to have so much publicity. Unfortunately, we have all experienced the loss of our valuables to someone who has decided to take a shortcut and help themselves.
While some of our plots are dedicated to growing for the Food Bank and some gardeners generously donate a portion of their produce, most gardeners plant with the intent of benefitting from their labour themselves. For many it’s a source of fresh produce that they otherwise could not afford.
Although there is no sign yet posted at the YARA-GRCG, it is must be made clear that any unauthorized removal of any material at the garden site (including fruits, vegetables and plants) constitutes THEFT – punishable under the Criminal Code.
