Grow Regina has the unique pleasure of working with renowned local artist Victor Cicansky who designed the two sculptures that frame the Queen Street entrance to the garden. They were installed August 2010.
Victor was an early supporter of Grow Regina, he wanted to contribute in a major way to help Grow Regina fulfill its mandate to enhance the economic, social and cultural well being of Regina residents through community gardening.
The Mackenzie Art Gallery will be featuring a retrospective:
VICTOR CICANSKY: THE GARDENER’S UNIVERSE
June 8 to October 27, 2019
Grow Regina will be hosting programming by the Mackenzie Art Gallery for 2 evenings in August celebrating Victor Cicansky and the garden. Details about the event and the dates are being worked out now and will be presented by the Mackenzie Art Gallery at our Annual General Meeting April 25.
The Cicansky Gazebo project
Victor Cicansky designed a beautiful piece of functional art to be the centre piece of our garden. Developing this project and fundraising to have this Gazebo installed has been the work of many over the past years.
In July 2018 we were officially awarded a Co-op Community Spaces grant for $90,000 towards our Gazebo.
Fundraising continues – If you would like to know more, have ideas or want to help out Contact us.
